The 2007 ASHI Instructor Development Course is now available. Materials for this course include an Instructor Guide, Instructor Guide CD, PowerPoint© Presentation and Student Handbook.

ASHI’s mission is to continually improve safety and health education by promoting high standards for members, principals of sound research for curriculum development and the professional development of safety and health instructors worldwide. ASHI ITs and RITs are training experts and an important resource to ASHI, ASHI-authorized Instructors and Training Centers. They are responsible for developing new instructors of sufficient quality to teach, evaluate, and certify participants in ASHI training programs. Although the previous IDC served ASHI well for many years, trends in the emergency medical education environment have evolved. Research has shown that there is a need to increase the instructional theory and knowledge base of people who teach emergency care and to improve evaluation procedures and outcomes. We are asking all current ITs and RITs to take an online exam to ensure mastery of the fundamentals and a common instructional knowledge basis for all ASHI instructors - from the top, down.

Once an ASHI It or RIT has successfully passed the exam with a passing score of 70% or more, they will be allowed to begin teaching the course and certify new ASHI instructors
